Who is Manolo Gabbiadini?

The various coaches who have trained him the last years, or this site? Manolo played with them very often as right wing, sometimes as second striker, rarely as centre striker. But where does the footballer prefer playing?
He is convinced to be a central striker, even though he does not move in this particular way. His major ability is to start from the right and to come in the center, so that he can kick with his left foot, almost magic. We remember him in Sampdoria with Mihajlovic and in the old Napoli of Benitez, when two hands were not enough to count all its goals. That is its natural movement. Yet, we saw against Chievo Gabbiadini who played as attacker, we have noticed his new mentality by striker. In spite of the goal scored (I wonder, what was he doing there an attacker?), we saw him running sure toward the nearest goal post more then one time. In the first half he managed to hit the ball, which Sorrentino has been able to touch. He done the same thing even the second half in order to exploit a Ghoulam‘s launch.
That is what a centre striker usually does, as he used to do “an Argentinian” that we do not name. Particular features are in the DNA of each player, but the way of playing on the pitch, it can change thanks to the training and to the teaching. And Gabbiadini is training and he is learning. He feels as a striker and maybe it will become it.

Chi è Manolo Gabbiadini?
“Ruolo naturale, punta centrale; altro ruolo, ala destra, seconda punta”. Questo è quanto riporta su Manolo Gabbiadini, un noto sito specializzato. Ma allora chi ha ragione? I vari allenatori che lo hanno avuto alle proprie dipendenze, o tale sito? Molto spesso ala destra, a volte seconda punta, raramente punta centrale. Così lo hanno impiegato i vari allenatori di cui sopra. E lui, Manolo, cosa si sente?
Lui si sente punta centrale, pur non avendone i movimenti. Il suo forte é partire da destra, per poi accentrarsi e dare libero sfogo al suo magico sinistro. Così lo ricordiamo nella Sampdoria di Mihajlovic e nel Napoli di Benitez, quando due mani non erano sufficienti a tenere il conto dei goals realizzati. É quello il suo movimento naturale. Eppure, contro il Chievo lo abbiamo visto fare la punta centrale, abbiamo notato in lui la mentalità dell’attaccante. A dispetto del goal segnato (una punta, cosa ci faceva lí?), lo abbiamo visto, in occasione dell’ottimo intervento di Sorrentino su suo colpo di di testa nel primo tempo, e nel secondo tempo su di un cross di Ghoulam, fiondarsi sul primo palo.
É questo che fa una punta centrale, così come faceva “l’innominabile”. Le caratteristiche sono caratteristiche, sono nel DNA di ogni giocatore, ma lo stare in campo é anche frutto di allenamento ed insegnamento. E sembra che Gabbiadini si stia allenando e stia apprendendo. Lui si sente un attaccante e forse lo diventerà a tutti gli effetti.
