“Only You” is not just the famous song by The Platters, but also the feeling which is spreading among the Napoli’s supporters. Only you, Tonelli. Maybe the others teams aren’t acquiring so many footballers, even though, there are some great teams already winners, which are behaving well. There are clubs that accept the Napoli’s proposal which players turn down, there are other clubs that reject the Napoli’s proposal, which players accept, in addition, some footballers are asking to go away in order to earn a bit better, and others who would prefer going away because they are not convinced by the project. It is almost the chaos. This “almost chaos” can turn in “complete chaos”, for example if Higuain goes away, or otherwise it can turn in “all quiet”, e.g. if the most important footballers stay with us, and other top players, on which you work from time, decide to sign the contract.
We haven’t to be too worried but not even too optimistic. The magic word is “moderation”. A thought comes, Napoli feels the lack of a charismatic manager, the one who, when De Laurentiis is busy with other matters (the movies), or when Guintoli is around to try to improve Napoli’s roster, is able to solve the most difficult situations, he lacks at Napoli. “Only you” non è solo la famosa canzone dei The Platters, ma anche il sentimento che serpeggia tra i tanti tifosi napoletani. Solo tu, Tonelli. Non che le altre squadre abbiano fatto incetta di nuovi acquisti, c’è comunque chi, già forte, si è mosso bene. Tra clubs che accettano le proposte del Napoli e calciatori che le rifiutano, tra clubs che le rifiutano e calciatori che le accettano, tra calciatori che chiedono di andare via per guadagnare meglio, e calciatori che chiedono di andare via perché non convinti dal progetto, é quasi caos. Basta poco perché il “quasi” diventi “completo caos”, Higuain che va via, o al contrario diventi “tutto tranquillo”, i big che restano, e qualche top player sul quale si lavora da tempo, che firmi il contratto.
Non è il caso di essere catastrofici ma neppure troppo ottimisti. La parola magica é “moderazione”. Una riflessione però mi viene di farla, quanto manca una figura carismatica in società, colui che, quando De Laurentiis é in altre faccende affaccendato (il cinema), o quando Giuntoli é in giro per rendere più competitiva la rosa, sappia gestire le situazioni più spinose, ecco, ciò che manca al Napoli è una figura del genere.
