Here is the Gabbiadini’s touching farewell letter.

addressed to Napoli and to Neapolitans. Absolutely fake. At least while I am writing this article. Well, I have imagined the words that Gabbiadini would write, or perhaps he will write, you never know, to greet his, by now, former supporters.

Dear Neapolitans, I am going to live an experience far from Napoli. I am both excited and sad. Excited because the Premier League is a championship that always has fascinated me, and it is perhaps the most beautiful in the world. But sad because I leave you and your wonderful city.
Professionally speaking, my stay in Napoli has had changing fortunes. The first season with Benitez I played and scored, then with Sarri I played less, but still scored. I appreciated both of them, and I think I was appreciated by both as well as by all the technical and managerial staff.
But above all, I was appreciated by all of you. You have made me feel your closeness and appreciation, even in difficult moments. Even the fan who thought that maybe I was not “adapt for Napoli”,  was always kind with me.
I simply believe that I was not the right man at the right time … but only professionally speaking.
A footballer who comes from Bergamo, strange, seemingly cold, I lived my experience in Napoli intensely .
With its contradictions and its lacks, which are not few, noticed also by me, despite the fact that I am a “privileged”, I can say that Napoli is a BEAUTIFUL city! But a city is beautiful not only thanks to climate, to sea, to thousand-year history, to art, to food etc etc. Napoli is beautiful because they are beautiful its inhabitants. The Neapolitans have a big heart almost as much as Vesuvio, if not more.
Best wishes to you, in sports, but especially in life. I will cheer forever Napoli team and Napoli city, and I will be always one of you, I will be always a Neapolitan.

Signed, Manolo Gabbiadini

Best wishes to you too, Manolo.
