Maradona and Veron
Unpleasant situation between Maradona and Veron,
during the Match of Peace at Olympic stadium in Rome. Offensive words between the two Argentinian footballers, in front of audiences and cameras. The reason? Great friends before the World Cup in South Africa, in 2010, after, bitter enemies. In that sporting event, Maradona was the Argentina‘s coach, Veron, the player to whom the Pibe de Oro had gifted the keys of the midfield.
But during the first match against Nigeria, Veron came out from the pitch because of a muscle problem. The injury prevented him to play the subsequent matches against South Korea and Greece. After the group stage, the footballer expected to come back against Mexico, and Germany, the future world champion. But Veron did not see the pitch, no more. Lots of accusations between them on press and on TV until last July, when the two one faced each other hard-nosed during a meeting at the offices of the Argentina’s federation. We already know what it happened in Rome.
